A lens-based research I developed during the Connective Tissue training program.

The work engages with contemporary discourses on disappearance, including sociologist Gabriel Gatti’s reflections on disappearance as a defining condition of our time. In front of the camera: the abandonment and political emptying of urban space. Behind the camera: a relentless will to question this absence ontologically.
Through a series of photographs taken in European cities such as Madrid, Bucharest, Sibiu, Iași, and Vienna, the urban landscape appears fundamentally uninhabited. The choice of vertical format, the conventional format of portraiture, affirms the emptiness of these spaces while resisting disappearance itself.
