Poster of Running PhotoLab - Budapest mobility project; based on an ongoing artistic research practice, 2024-present
Running PhotoLab is a long-term experimental project that transforms running into an artistic practice, both literally and metaphorically. It began during a 2024 research trip to Moinești, Romania, the birthplace of Tristan Tzara, and continued in Budapest, Hungary, a city where, despite the language barrier, I felt an unexpected sense of home. The project keeps expanding with each new journey. Running PhotoLab is not just about moving from place to place. It creates a space where photography, cartography, and motion meet, and where others are invited to enter, learn, and be challenged. In times of environmental urgency and widespread sedentary lifestyles, this intersection has become not only experimental but also necessary.
This artistic mobility project was funded by Culture Moves Europe, with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Budapest / Budapesti Román Kulturális Intézet as my host institution. Culture Moves Europe is a funding scheme of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
